Meet Teresa
Founder and Lead Teacher
Hi, I’m Teresa.
I’m a nature-based homeschooling mom and trained Montessori teacher who has been working with children for over 20 years.
I discovered my love for teaching while working for an education program designed for students with dyslexia, and not long after that I stumbled upon Montessori while searching for a school for my oldest son. While attending parent-education seminars I learned that Montessori Philosophy offered a practical, respectful approach to human development. It was an easy decision to adopt Montessori as a way of life. I felt like I’d found home.
I dove right in and completed my AMS credential through the training program at Belmont University in Nashville,TN. I have also been trained in the Lindamood-Bell language processing systems as well as Montessori Applied to Children at Risk (MACAR) from the Shelton School in Dallas, TX. After working at both the elementary and early childhood levels in the public sector and working in teacher coaching in the private sector I moved into my role as a guide, practicum advisor, and field consultant for a Montessori teacher training program.
Our family moved toward homeschooling during the pandemic and what began as a method to teach my own children has evolved into The Explorers Club: a place where children can explore, run, climb, build, collaborate with one another, and use the natural world as their classroom.
